Charles W. CoxsonAugust 23, 1923 ~ February 10, 2017 (age 93)
Funeral services will be held on Monday February 20, 2017 at 11:00 AM at the Kelley-Robb-Cummins Funeral Home in Hubbard with Rev. Ken Hopkins officiating for Charles W. Coxson, 93, of Champion who died Friday afternoon February 10, 2017 at Bradenton Hospice in Bradenton, FL. He was born August 23, 1923 in Cleveland, OH, a son of Walter Hud and Alberta Coxson.
Mr. Coxson, served with the United States Marines and was a draftsman and engineer for Halsey Taylor Company in Warren for 28 years. He was a member of Champion Christian Church where he was a life Elder. Charles was an original member of Champion Athletic Club coaching youth baseball teams. He enjoyed woodworking, having made furniture for his entire family and was a lifelong fan of Ohio State and Cleveland sports teams.
His wife of 63 years, the former Julia Ann Kubuj, whom he married May 15, 1943, died October 7, 2005.
Charles leaves two sons, Terry L. (Phyllis) Coxson of Buckeye, AZ and Timothy C. (Jean) of Bradenton, FL; a daughter, Shirley A. (John) Bartynski of Baltimore, MD; 7 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife Julia.
Family and friends may call on Sunday February 19, 2017 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Kelley-Robb-Cummins Funeral Home in Hubbard and also one hour prior to the services on Monday from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Kelley-Robb-Cummins Funeral Home.
Interment will be at Corner House Cemetery in Hubbard.
